1. Who We Are

Karia is an AI-powered career platform operated by KariaOS Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). Our platform helps African tech professionals find jobs, evaluate opportunities, generate application documents, and track their career pipeline through a conversational web interface.

By accessing or using Karia, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Karia.

By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide — including your CV, skills, and employment history — is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

3. What Karia Does

• Searches job boards and company career pages to surface relevant opportunities based on your profile.
• Evaluates job listings against your CV and career goals using AI-driven scoring.
• Generates tailored CVs, cover letters, and application materials based on your provided information.
• Tracks the status of jobs you have evaluated or applied to through an application pipeline.
• Provides interview preparation and career advisory through conversational AI.

Karia does not apply to jobs on your behalf without your explicit action. All document generation and application submissions require your review and consent.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@kariahq.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to any other person.

5. Content You Provide

You retain full ownership of any content you upload or share — including your CV, work history, personal data, and preferences. By uploading content, you grant Karia a limited, non-exclusive licence to use that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

We will not sell, share, or use your personal career data to train third-party AI models without your explicit written consent.

You must not upload content that is fraudulent, impersonates another person, or contains false credentials. Falsifying qualifications or employment history violates these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

6. AI-Generated Content

Karia uses large language models to generate CVs, cover letters, evaluation summaries, and conversational responses. While we work to ensure quality, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated documents before submitting them to employers.

Karia does not guarantee that any evaluation score, job match, or career recommendation will result in an interview offer or employment outcome.

7. Subscription and Billing

Karia operates on a usage-based subscription model. The first month of access is provided free of charge with no payment information required. Subsequent months are billed at the rate displayed at the time of subscription.

You may pause your subscription at any time. Billing stops automatically while your account is paused and resumes only when you reactivate it. There are no cancellation fees, annual lock-ins, or hidden charges.

Payments are processed securely through Paystack. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Karia to submit fraudulent job applications or misrepresent your qualifications.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform programmatically.
• Use the service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair Karia infrastructure.
• Resell or commercialise access to the platform without our written permission.
• Use Karia to harass, stalk, or intimidate any individual or organisation.

9. Intellectual Property

The Karia platform, brand, design, and underlying software are owned by KariaOS Ltd and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond what is required to use the service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Karia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular job search outcome will be achieved.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KariaOS Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of earnings, loss of data, or missed employment opportunities.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via your registered email address or a notice within the platform. Continued use of Karia after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
